Pastor Lloyd Gilreath
Pastor Gilreath came to us in February 2025. With our new pastor, Lloyd Gilreath, came Megan, his wife, and 3 sons: Brysley, and twins, Camden and Canaan. Megan has been actively involved in children's ministries and led a ladies' ministry group prior to having their twins. Now, her focus is on their young children, and she is a strong advocate, support, and help to Pastor Lloyd, working tirelessly behind the scenes.
Pastor Lloyd accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on a cold December night at Old Way Baptist Church. Although he doesn't remember the exact date and time, he vividly recalls the moment he asked Jesus to be his savior over a cold metal folding chair in a Sunday School classroom. This profound experience shaped his faith and continues to influence his ministry.
In May of 2010, our pastor was called by the Spirit to preach. He has since pastored two other churches: Wayside Baptist Church for 5 years and Calvery Baptist Church in Lafayette, GA for 1 year. Additionally, he served as Assistant Minister of Music at Central Ave. Baptist Church and on the youth committee of the Chattooga Baptist Association.
The pastor's preaching style is a blend of series, expository, and topical preaching, keeping his congregation engaged and inspired weekly. His walk with the Lord is a joyful adventure, guided by faith and trust in God's plan, as emphasized in
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." He states that the key is to realize that acknowledging God’s plan means trusting that He has one's best interest and future in mind. Following His plan, He will direct and guide our paths. Just as Pastor Lloyd leads and directs his own children into paths of safety, making the right decisions, and achieving a successful future, God leads us in the same way.
Pastor Lloyd and his family are thrilled to be a part Armuchee Baptist Church, and they felt an immediate sense of belonging when they first visited. Their dedication to their faith and community is evident in their commitment and enthusiasm for their new church home.
